Tottenham Agree Personal Terms with Manor Solomon for Free Transfer

Tottenham Hotspur Football Club has reportedly agreed on personal terms with attacker Manor Solomon for his transfer to the club on a free transfer. This news comes as a significant development for the club, as they continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming season.

According to a report by Timesandstar.co.uk, Solomon, who spent last season on loan at Fulham, was initially set to return to his parent club, Shakhtar Donetsk. However, FIFA recently extended its temporary employment rules due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, allowing Solomon to cancel his deal with Shakhtar and sign for Spurs.

Under the extended rules, foreign players contracted to clubs affiliated with Ukrainian or Russian football associations have the right to unilaterally suspend their employment until June 30, 2024, as long as teams are informed in writing by July 1. With Solomon‘s contract with Shakhtar due to expire on December 31, he has exercised his right to suspend his current employment, making him a free agent.

With the opening created by this situation, Tottenham is now poised to complete the signing of Solomon next week. This will mark the fourth addition to the squad since the appointment of new manager Ange Postecoglou in June.

Manor Solomon, an Israel international, made a strong impression during his loan spell with Fulham despite a knee injury that delayed his debut until January. Playing from the left wing, he showcased his skills and managed to score five goals in 24 appearances under former manager Marco Silva.

At Tottenham, Solomon will compete for a place in the attacking areas and is set to face his former club, Shakhtar, in a friendly fixture scheduled for August 6. This matchup will surely add excitement to his arrival and provide him with an opportunity to prove himself against his former teammates.

As the deal progresses, fans eagerly anticipate the official announcement from Tottenham regarding Solomon’s signing and look forward to seeing him in action for the team.
