Mudasiru Salifu bids farewell message to Asante Kotoko after completing a move to Saudi Arabia

Mudasiru Salifu has completed a permanent move to Al-Bukiryah FC of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia after an incredible four seasons with Kotoko and has penned down an emotional message to the Asante Kotoko family after completing the deal.

Mudasiru joined Asante Kotoko in 2019 after contract termination with CS Sfacien under Coach Kjetil Zakariahsen.

Mudasiru Salifu soon established himself as one of the best in the league, earning him a call-up to the Black Galaxies. His first goal for Asante Kotoko came in our remarkable 3-1 away win over Dreams FC in the opening fixture of the 2021-2022 season.

The 26 year old  also espent two successful loan spells at Moldovan club FC Sheriff Tiraspol, helping them secure a group stage berth in the UEFA Europa League, where he faced off with five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo. Following the expiration of his loan deal, the midfielder joined Saudi Arabian club Al-Batin in the Saudi Pro-League but was relegated.

Mudasiru took to his social media platforms to show how grateful and loved he felt in his days for the porcupine warriors. According to the workaholic midfielder, it was his dream to play for one of African greatest club and eventually came to pass after joining Asante Kotoko.

“It is with the heaviest of heart that I bid farewell to this great club. For the past four years, Asante Kotoko has been my home and it’s people my family. I want to first thank His Royal Majesty Otumfuor Osei Tutu II and the Board for giving me the opportunity to realize my dream of playing for one the biggest club in Africa. You showed faith in me from the start and supported my development as a player and a man over these four years” He tweeted.

Mudasiru further thanked the management teams and coaches whom he worked with for four years and his teammates also.

“To the management teams and coaches, thank you for always pushing me to improve and for instilling the spirits and values that make Kotoko so special. Your guidance shaped me on and off the pitch.”

“To my teammates – it has been an honor to take the pitch with you all. Thank you for the bond we shared and for pushing each other to our best. I will cherish the memories of our victories and learning from our defeats together.”

Salifu finally thanked the supporters of the club and show his love and gratitude for them. He tagged them us “AMAZING Supporters”. According to Mudasiru, he will never forget how the supporters how they celebrate victories with the supporters at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

“And finally, to amazing Kotoko supporters – your passion is unmatched and it has been an honor to play for you. In the highs and lows, you were always there cheering us on as the twelve man. I will never forget celebrating our victories together at Baba Yara Stadium. Thou my time has come to an end, Kotoko will forever have a place in my heart. You gave me soo much and I hope I’ve been able to give back and make you proud over these past four years. Wherever my career takes me next, I will carry the spirit of Kotoko with me. Thank You for everything” He concluded.

Mudasiru Salifu won the league title with Asante Kotoko in his four years spell in Kumasi.
