T.l Ahmadiyya SHS, Kumasi progresses to the quarter-final of the Ashanti Regional inter-schools and colleges football tournament after a 3-1 win over Dwamena Akenten at the Baba Yara Sports stadium.
The Amass side was captained by Asante Kotoko’s Rocky Dwamena started the game on a brighter note as they opened the scoring in the first ten minutes of the game with goals from Rocky Dwamena from the spot and “Dembele”. Dwamena Akenten pulled one back just on the stroke of halftime to make it 2-1 at the break after poor communication between the defenders of T. I Amass.
Back from recess, Dwamena Akenten maintained their momentum and controlled the game in search of their equalizer but the defensive pair of Baffour Awuah( Guy Guy) and Adams were resolute not to concede in the early stages of the second half.
Rocky Dwamena completed his brace after a thunderbolt strike from right back Aikins pass which went beyond the reach of the goalkeeper to make it 3-1 for the phobians. The match ended 3-1 which means Amass are through to the quarter final and are in for the title after reaching the finals the last time but was canceled due to venue reasons.
T.I Amass will face Adu Gyamfi Senior High School in the quarter finals of Wednesday 26th July,2023 at the Baba Yara Sports with Kick Off at 9:30am.
