Coach Kwesi Appiah

EXCLUSIVE: James Kwesi Appiah agrees to take over the head coach role at Asante Kotoko.

Former Black Stars coach, James Kwesi Appiah has accepted to be the Head Coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko after a meeting with Manhyia Palace chief of staff, Kofi Badu today.

At age 63, Kwesi Appiah has gained a lot of experience in the African football including coaching the senior national team of Ghana. Kwesi Appiah also played as a player for Asante Kotoko and Prestea Mine stars as a left back.

He started his managerial career as an assistant coach for Asante Kotoko in 1992-1995 before taking the head coach role. He also guarded the Ghana u23 to win the 2011 All African games.

Kwesi Appiah is expected to takje charge of the technical team and recruit players for the club as the 2023-24 season approaches.
