Asante Kotoko Sporting Club has announced the signing of the Bofoakwa Tano defender, Samuel Asamoah ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Asamoah has become the sixth signing of the porcupine warriors. The young enterprising right-back signed a three-year deal that runs till 2026 for Asante Kotoko ahead of the new season.
Samuel’s arrival bolsters the defensive capabilities and fills the position vacated by Samuel Appiah who terminated his contract with Asante Kotoko last season.
The 23-year-old had a sensational season with Bofoakwa Tano, playing a pivotal role in helping the Sunyani-based side secure Premier League qualification after a 16-year absence. Asamoah provided eight assists in eighteen games in the Access Bank division one league.
Asante Kotoko finished fourth in the just concluded Betpawa Premier League season and was eliminated by Aduana Stars in the quarter-finals of the MTN FA Cup.
Samuel Asamoah who previously played for Bofoakwa Tano is already with the team in Beposo as they prepare ahead of the upcoming season which will be played later in September.
Asante Kotoko’s first match of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season will take place against league returnees Hearts of Lions at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
