Match Report: Togolese champions ASKO de Kara defeats Medeama in a friendly.

Ghanaian Champions Medeama Sporting Club was handed another defeat in their preseason against Togolese Champions, ASKO de Kara. They were stunned by a lone goal at the Glow Lamp Academy Park in Abreshia, Cape Coast, on Friday..

In the first department of the game, Medeama SC was able to hold the Togolese side to a goalless draw. However, AKSO de Kara came back into the second half strongly and scored in the third minute of the second half through Robert Kouyara after a poor miscommunication between the defenders of Medeama SC.

Medeama SC came back into the game and created numerous goal-scoring chances but the defense and brilliance of goalkeeper Drissa Kouyate denied Medeama SC from getting their equalizer.

This marks Medeama SC’s second defeat in two friendly games where their first defeat came against newly promoted Betpawa premier league side, Nations FC in a game that ended 3-2 against the yellow and mauves.

Medeama has been drawn against Nigerian side Remo Stars SC in the first preliminary round of the competition, with the first leg set for August 20, 2023, at the Cape Coast Stadium.

The second leg of the tie will place in a week’s time in Ogun state, Nigeria.
