LaNMMA MCE COMMITTED TO SUPPORT FARMERS IN THE ASSEMBLY TO NATIONAL LEVEL
The Municipal Chief Executive {MCE} of the LaNkwantanang Madina Municipal Assembly {LaNMMA}, Mrs. Jennifer Dede Adjabeng has assured that her outfit is commitment to support farmers in the municipality to get to the Regional and National levels of the Farmer’s Award.
According to her, the goal of the department of Agriculture is to ensure development of agriculture and sustainability of the agro-environment in the Municipality.
This year’s farmers’ day celebration organized by the municipality was on the theme: “Planting For Food anD Jobs: Consolidating Food System in Ghana” and it took place at the West Africa Senior High School, Adenta.

The MCE said farming was gradually becoming the game changer for local economies and reiterated the call for residents to go into backyard gardens.
She stated the commitment of the Assembly and government to the growth of the sector with the provision of subsidised seedlings and fertilizers and congratulated farmers for feeding the nation.
The MCE said this at the ninth Municipal and 37th National Farmers’ Day Celebration in Accra.
Addressing the celebrants, the Chief Executive of the LaNkwantanang Madina Municipal Assembly {LaNMMA}, Mrs. Jennifer Dede Adjabeng highlighted the need to support farmers to grow more crops that would ensure food safety, security and quality production in the country.
Awards were given for winning categories including, first and second runners up, MCE’s best backyard farmer, best Municipal Youth Farmer, Best Female Farmer and Best disabled.
“Today I was privileged to present the award for the La Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Best Farmer to mark the 37th farmer’s day celebration” she stated.
She revealed that the overall best Farmer, a 44-year-old farmer, Mallam Shaibu Fuseini has been farming for the past thirty years, producing livestock ranging from rabbits, cattle, goats, birds amongst others.
Mrs. Adjabeng added that the La Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Assembly best farmer is an Arabic and Islamic scholar and a lecturer, also owns large vegetable farms including, tomatoes, onions, beetroots and lettuce.
And for his enormous effort, he received one corn mill, a napsack spray, Pair of Wellington boots, two cutlasses, a polytank and some other very important farming tools.
