Newly posted teachers are to visit the district or municipal office of the school they were posted to with their assumption of duty letter and other relevant documents
Below is a sample of an assumption of duty letter. This letter is mostly prepared by the headteachers of the school you were posted to, however, some headteachers let the newly posted teachers prepare it themselves
The Assumption letter should contain the following;
- Address of the newly posted teacher
- District or Municipal’s address
- Name of the newly posted teacher
- School of post
- Date of assumption and report date(given by the headteacher)
