2020 was no different as we have compiled some amazing personalities who rose from everyday Ghanaians to become famous
1. Sammy KNUST
Samuel Aboagye, a KNUST student went viral over his emotional reaction following a breakup with his girlfriend, Nana Ama. His story kept making waves on social media until he became known by everyone and was featured on some major radio and online media stations.
2. Dr. UN
Doctor UN, whose real name is Kwame Owusu Fordjour had always been around giving awards here and there. However, he became really popular after he organized a fake award that featured some of the most prominent celebrities in Ghana including Sarkodie, D-Black and more.
3. Mrs. Tracy Osei
Mrs Tracy Osei whose maiden name was Tracy Ameyaw was not a figure anyone knew to be in the limelight of any sort. However, she got married to Mr Kennedy Osei, the son of business mogul Dr Osei Kwame Despite in a lavish wedding that went viral. Now, she is a household name.
4. AY Poyoo
Emmanuel Yeboah, popularly known as AY Poyoo popped up in the limelight out of nowhere early in the year with interesting but hilarious rap videos. Many Ghanaians thought his fame would be short-lived with some indicating that ‘by June di33’ he would have been gone. However, the youngster has just kept rising higher and higher.
5. Jackline Mensah
Ghana’s number one TikTok star, Jackeline Mensah, had been around since 2019 but nobody really paid great attention to her until 2020. Her videos started going viral and she got featured in myriads of videos and interviews that have now established her as a solid celebrity in the country. 6. Hajia Bintu
Hajia Bintu was recently featured in a song by Shatta Wale. However, she did not start 2020 being that favoured and famous. Bintu got famous on TikTok and Instagram after constantly thrilling the masses with raunchy photos and videos.
7. Edward Asare
The talented 27-year-old gentleman has risen from the point of being unemployed for two good years after school to becoming a force to reckon with in the Ghanaian social media space. Edward, who hails from the Dawatrim-Asesewa in the Eastern Region, is the social media manager of YEN.com.gh. He has become a known name and face and was recently awarded as the Digital Media Influencer of the Year 2020 by the Youth Excellence Awards (YEA).
8. Elizabeth Yamoah
