The Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1 club are reportedly in advance talks to sign the proven goal poacher from Asante Kotoko.
Asante Kotoko have commenced negotiations with Algerian giants USM Alger over the possible transfer of Kwame Opoku in the ongoing transfer window.
According to a report filed by Ashh FM, the management of the Kumasi-based club are in advanced talks with USM Alger who have expressed the former Nkoranza Warriors attacker following his exploits in the Ghanaian top-flight league.
Opoku has been an instant hit for the Porcupine Warriors since the commencement of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season.
It is believed that USM Alger are ready to spend $1 million to acquire the services of the 21-year-old striker who is yet to complete a full season at the Porcupine Warriors.
His explosive performance at Asante Kotoko has attracted him interest from several clubs including Qatari side Al Sadd and Egyptian giants Al Ahly and Zamalek.
Opoku joined Asante Kotoko on a three-year deal from second-tier club Nkoranza Warriors last year.
His debut for the Ghanaian giants delayed following the cancellation of the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League season due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Opoku has so far scored eight (8) in his 15 Ghana Premier League appearances for Asante Kotoko in his debut season at the club.
His contract with Asante Kotoko will expire in 2023.
